Count your many… failures?
So, my drum instructor always emphasizes to us,
“Learning does not come from success. It comes from failure.”
So, I want to test this out.
I am going to count my next 1,000 failures.
Weight-loss failures, that is.
There is a post in my queue somewhere that will probably rear its head within the next week or two about how Walt Disney, JK Rowling, and the creator of Starbucks all went through rejection one, two, three hundred times before they finally were successful.
What would the world be like without them? Or Martin Luther King, Jr? Or the founding fathers? Or every single person on this planet who had every right to say they couldn’t do it, but did it anyway?
We don’t have to find out, because they never gave up. What about you? What about me? What if we have something huge to offer the world, but we never get there because we let our failures hold us back?
Failure is an event, not a person.
And this person is going to make the most out of every single one.
So, every 50 or so, I will check to see what I have learned from all of them, and what I’ve gained, and I will post about it. Because in order to fail, that means that I’ve succeeded at something else, and that’s worth celebrating, right?
This will indeed be interesting. (:
